if the right people are on the plane, i get 23 new kids

Three young children running through a field, symbolizing the challenges and responsibilities of providing care and support for multiple children, as discussed by Reynolds Law Group in legal guidance for guardianship and family law.

I had friends who were an incredible couple, loved by many. They were so beloved that numerous parents asked them to be guardians for their children in case something happened. If the right people were on a plane that went down, my friends would suddenly be responsible for twenty-three new kids!

Fortunately, that never happened. But it raises an important question: who would take care of your children if something happened to you?

When Amberly and I had kids at home, we wanted to ensure that they were always cared for in the event of an unforeseen tragedy—be it a car accident, a random act of violence, or any other unexpected event.

We didn’t want our children to end up with someone we hadn’t personally chosen. So, we took action by setting up guardianship paperwork to specify who we want to take care of our kids. We wanted to make that decision ourselves, rather than leaving it up to a judge who might not fully understand our wishes or priorities.

And you can do the same.

Creating guardianship paperwork is straightforward and doesn’t require much time. With just a few minutes of your time, you can ensure your children are cared for by the people you trust.
