Joshua Lindstrom
Josh has led an impressive career as a U.S. Army Infantryman and Green Beret deploying five times for over three years to both Iraq and Afghanistan during the Global War on Terror. Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Lindstrom was awarded two Bronze Stars for his combat service and a Purple Heart for injuries he suffered when an Improvised Explosive Device struck his vehicle in Logar, Afghanistan in 2012. Operating as the Weapons Sergeant on a U.S. Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha or ODA, allowed him to gain perspective and experience in unconventional warfare, mission planning, and crisis leadership. During his service, Josh earned qualifications as a Parachutist, Pathfinder, Jumpmaster, Sniper, and Special Forces Advanced Targeting Reconnaissance Target Analysis Exploitation Techniques Course (SFARTAETC). Josh also earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Combat Action Badge, the coveted Special Forces Tab, and the right to wear the Green Beret.
After leaving the service, Josh became an adaptive sports athlete and coach, winning the individual archery open category in the U.S. Military’s Warrior Games, and a gold medal in international competition individual archery at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada in 2017. During this period Josh earned associate and bachelor’s degrees from Regent University, started a small business, and coached the Special Operations Command Warrior Games Archery team.
Josh has been featured anonymously in a book regarding resiliency, he has participated in panel discussions for medical providers treating combat wounded Traumatic Brain Injury patients, as well as founding a 501(c)3 non-profit organization called the “Blastology Foundation” to help ensure that those wounded in combat receive the proper recognition and treatment for Blast related Traumatic Brain Injuries. In his spare time, Josh is an enthusiastic, but slightly underperforming golfer and drummer. He is married to his lovely wife of 19 years, Christine, and is father to two children, Annika and Finn.
